Haven't heard activity on those bands in many years. The 11 year cycle must finally be rolling back around. Anyone else notice this? It seems like it just happened in the last week. Suddenly I am hearing those fun roger beeps and loud garbled echo voices again Too bad I don't have a CB anymore, I decided the parts inside the radio were worth more to me scrapped then keeping the radio in one peice heh. Oh well I could always pick up a CB at a garage sale or something again. So are any of you going to play around on 11 meters again? There was a pirate using the band a few days ago and the usual truckers playing country into their linears hehe.

Nothing heard near Vancouver *shrug*
When the sun is out, all bands go dead.... no WWV, no nothing. After dusk is when 15MHz and lower come alive like aswitch turning on
Peace!

Hmm 17 to 29mhz seems to be at its peak from noon until right before the sun goes down for me. 17 meters seems to be best right before the sun sets and the upper freqs like 11m are best around noon until about 2-4pm. As I recall many years ago 11m band was most active around noon for skip back when skip was at its 11 year cycle peak. The other day tuning around I was hearing a lot of skip again and this was around 2pm here. I noticed today the skip was acting really weird, it would fade in and I would be hearing all kinds of DX and then would fade right back out to nothing but quiet. Maybe in a month or two it will be solid but who knows with the way the suns acting lately.
This reminds me I need to get the frequencies of all those 11 meter becons and start hunting them down on my dial. If anything will show how the band is working that will

I worked some 11 meter DX into the UP of Mich and into the Toronto area yesterday around 9pm edt....10 and 11 meters has been deader than 2 doornails up to now. I hope that yesterday bodes well for some more dx. The 30 and 40 meter shortwave broadcast bands were hot here last night too.
