Just curious what some of your favorites are as far as online services that have multiple "radio" stations to choose from.
I have always used shoutcast but noticed lately that they are lacking.
Last.FM has always been a favorite but not really a player like shoutcast is, however they have lots of unsigned bands and music which you'd never hear anywhere else.
I used to use Destiny which has some stations to choose from. In fact a few pirate operators actually simulcast their programming on there while on air over real radio. Problem is most of their stuff has a low bit-rate which is fine for talk, but kind of a bummer for music.
Don't really have any favorite station directory services. I just make sure my station can list on as many of them as possible including iTunes. My station has 3 streams, a 24kps 44.1Khz stereo AAC+, a 48kps 22.050Khz stereo MP3, and a 128kpz 44.1 stereo MP3, tho the 128 is not on right now because I am about to launch a new indie music channel which will simulcast on my terrestrial FM station, and the current talk/news format going out on the 24k and the 48k feeds will simulcast on my terrestrial AM station.
The city is not that big size wise and both the FM and AM cover it pretty well, especially the AM thanks to the river 4 blocks away. Every once in a while I set aside the Ramsey FM-100 and fire up the FME-10 watt unit which drives a 300 watt amp just to warm things up around the area a bit. The AM carries over the power grid neutral line and covers the city with a clean clear signal.
Shoutcast is trying to get everyone over to the new v2.0 system, which may be why their directory is lacking in station listings.
Peace!

I go to www.live365.com and Spotify for listening to music. I find that Live365 is easier to use and broadcasting live is a lot more user friendly as I broadcast there and also have an account with Radionomy. Radionomy is too complex in my opinion.
Here is a URL to my station on Live365 and there are some other awesome stations there! www.live365.com/stations/sluggocarter By the way, Live365 takes care of copyrighted and royalty licensing for you like Radionomy does from what I know about them.
