Obviously a hell of a lot of work will need to be done to get everything converted over properly. That link above is just a sample which I am playing around with so the looks and settings may change over time as I test some things. The temp site will disappear when the conversion takes place.
This will not effect our current forum until the conversion happens which I will let you all know before hand.
The new software has a lot of interesting features but I am not happy with the way it looks at the moment. I'm hoping proboards works on that a bit before the change.
Our sidechat cbox doesn't work with the new code, however they have added their own chat feature that will be at the bottom of the forums. The clock doesn't work either I'm hoping to get that working somehow before the changeover.
Lots of work to do between now and then in my spare time. When the change does happen please bare with me for a few days as things will radically change in those short few days.
Right side margin is way off on that new proboard. I'm using FF btw. It should be fitting within the browser window regardless of full screen or not. It's creating a bottom left-right scroll bar.
Don't see the chat box at all, or the clock.
Peace!

What screen resolution are you using and do you possibly have NoScript plugin? Because if so you will need to click "Allow all this page".
I am testing it out on FF 16.0.2 on my other computer and it looks fine.
It seems the lower resolutions like 1024x768 are forcing scrolling. I am talking to people on the support forums right now on how to fix that.
Still there is no reason you shouldn't see the side bar showing the UTC time, links, and chat.
In fact.. everyone please do me a major favor and let me know what web browser you're using and version. Let me know any bugs you see.
Sadly a lot of the bugs are proboards fault itself and not mine. This upgrade is jumping a huge step not only with our forums but their software so I expect lots of problems until all the kinks are worked out.
Members please don't be discouraged, we will get this all figured out in time and the outcome should be better than what we have now. Keep in mind the temporary test forums are only testing grounds, and subject to change majorly in time before the changes are permanent to the main forums.
Also if you notice a HUGE bug or style issues in the new forum with your browser please take a screen shot and post a link here.
I really appreciate the help. Believe me I am NOT happy with this forum upgrade and the work that I have to do but it is what it is. I'm just keeping high hopes that it will be for the better in the long run which usually is the case.
Edit: Now tested in Internet Explorer 7 and 8 and all looks fine. Tested in Firefox 15 and 16 and all looks fine. Any Opera users or Chrome please chime in.
Margin is correct now. Yes I have NoScript active because a lot of forums with ad banners tend to not police them and allow hacks and other garbage infect people's computers without them knowing it.
When I allow the test forum to run it's scripts, the chat box and clock are there.
Looking good now!
Peace!

Great!
I had a funny feeling you were using noscript because I also use that on my other computer and noticed the same exact issue until I allowed it to load scripts for our forums.
I'm actually looking forward to the new forums now when the conversion happens but that will be in a few months.
A few notes: The conversion is suppose to happen around March. So it will be around 4 months from now. That link I gave to the temp forums are just a test copy running in the V5 software. So posting anything on the new forums is not recommended since no one will see it and they will be removed anyways when the conversion happens. They are only temporary to test things.
The whole database will be moved over, so nothing will be lost in the conversion.
I'm really liking the new design but will have to wait. Almost like a late Christmas present lol. Moving this thread to Talk to Moderator(s).
Hey Kage, the new look, well, looks great. I love the rounded corners on the boxes. Is the "new topics"button going to be on the bottom and be named "recent threads/posts" I liked it on top.(no puns please) sixer

Not quite sure if the positioning of that can be changed yet but I could always add it to the top navigation bar in the future.
If you click the Participated button next to the navigation bar it shows all the recent threads/posts that you had conversations in.
Upgrade completed. There are still some minor things I need to work on like slimming down some of the features that aren't at all useful to the purpose of these forums. I'm not very happy about the "related topics and stories" feed below the reply box as it just adds more clutter and annoyance but small things like that will be patched up soon.
There are a lot of new features in everyones control panel under your profile settings that you may want to check out. The themes should all be working properly, but as always the "Default" theme is the one which is designed to look perfect with the features like the side chat.
