I mostly listen to shortwave for pirates because few stations around here besides my own use FM/AM . Though there are a few good public stations on the regular broadcast bands, I am more of a SWLer.
Well, the answer to this always changes, but right now I'd have to say that it's Nichole Atkins. If you haven't heard Neptune City yet, you're missing out.

For me, personally I have listened to shortwave far longer than anything else but my main focus of interest has been 50 MHZ since 1976. I am holding presently at 89 countries worked/confirmed on "The Magic Band", it's a great 'title' since you never know what to expect to hear at a moments notice ! One of biggest thrills was working my 50th and last U.S. state, Hawaii on CW several years ago. I enjoy weak signal work and CW (Morse Code) primarily although from time to time when conditions permit, I will use SSB also, or if I just feel like BS'ing for a long period with another station, it's a lot faster to speak than to use CW, lol ! Of course I also enjoy DX'ing for pirate radio stations as well !

A year old thread... Well I clicked one for FM Broadcast as that's my main source for hearing my own operation. I also hear a lot of news/talk/info on AM. A rather bland diet to some, I'm sure, but it meets my minimum daily requirement.
