I started a similar thread like this before but it was mostly of my own stuff. Lets post any pictures or videos of our setups or on air talent here for fun. Make sure nothing is incriminating or too obvious like showing your location or anything too obvious in case the wrong people are watching. I have always been fascinated with other pirate setups. It is fun to see others into the same hobby.
Here is the latest shot of my AM and FM broadcast gear..
You can see my homebuilt equipment and my dinky realistic mixer that many pirates have had the pleasure of using themselves. Equipment stack on the main desk is fairly basic. Top to bottom is the monitor tuner, Denon CD deck, Kenwood 5 disc changer deck, Onkyo tape deck and Yamaha 31 band EQ for mics.
When I get some friends over I may take some pics of us doing a show.
You are welcome to post links here to other peoples setups as long as they allow permission which is of no issue if they publicly show it on some other forum.
Antennas, equipment, vintage pictures, random photos... anything goes. Hope this thread takes off! Stickied in hopes that it does.
Very cool. Makes my setup look like a complete joke. :-)
LOL really? I always considered my setup minimalistic. Don't feel bad about your setup though because we all start somewhere. I have been collecting equipment for some years.

the carrier current main site on 1630 goes a couple miles via power lines the remote part 15.219 setup on 1620 just about covers the apartment complex it's installed at. maybe 1/4 mile max with a good strong signal. i run oldies. even have an EAS system and i am working on trying to get a set of belar mod monitors and eventually one of those greek 0-20W cquams and a set of delta ASM-1 cquam monitors. i want to take the carrier current cquam eventually. i do have some cquam receivers as does my friend who lives close by.

i have added to the part 15 lineup a commercial agile fm tx, harris ms-15 running, into a 5 pole lpf and a dual bandpass cavity pushing a whopping 5mW into the terminals of a half wave dipole with a center of radiation 1 meter above ground. i'm covering a whopping 1000ft to a car radio less to my all band portable.
***Sigh***
wish it was legal to push at least a watt or two into the dipole with at least a 15m HAAT
i would love to be able to cover the apartment complex i live in and not worry about being busted for piracy.
probably 1/2 watt to watt w/ the dipole on the roof would push out a penetrating signal to the entire complex and the one next to us.
hell i would be happy with what NZ has. they are allowed 1 Watt ERP on FM and there is another country where 5 watts on AM is legal. i don't know if this is ERP or TPO into a certain size antenna but would be happy with that too.
if i lived away from city out in the country somewhere maybe an out in the middle of nowhere trailer park i would adjust the signal to cover the park and run a little more to the antenna system with a little more height of the antenna.
i guess i can dream and just settle for what i have now and not really have to worry about being busted for illegal broadcasting.
FCC field office is just a couple miles from me.
we need some type of service in the USA that allows you to cover a defined area such as trailer parks, apartments, and other defined area semi private / private venues. we had such a service on FM prior to 1989 rules changes. although it only applied to educational campuses.
i will try post pictures of the Transmitter mod fm monitor, will try to get a snapshot of cavities, home brew optimod 8000a, and the waterfall / spectrum display from my RTSDLR / SDRSharp system. will try to do this soon no guarantees though.
as an addendum to above comment in the post above this one about AM mod monitors i went with the radio engineering associates AMM-SD1 AM mod monitors instead of belars for the carrier current.

A man after my own heart ! Nice setup brother ! And assembled from scratch, a man after my own heart ! How much power do you run on the FM BCB ? Also what type of antenna have you had the most success with ? I currently found that a vertically polarized dipole has been best so far, I've tried horizontal polarization but didn't fare out as well using my car radio as my field monitor.. I am planning on building a folded dipole and use it vertically polarized.. I am running 5 watts on FM BCB but am building an 80 watt amp which will be finished this month.. I'll be sure to post my pix here as well.. Been in the radio game a LONG time, love it ! My station is 'High Mountain Radio', 99.9 FM Stereo 'Broadcasting From Somewhere HIGH', 'CPR For Your Soul', Old School Rock & Roll, Blues, Motown, Soul, Reggae, Jazz format.. Love to see your reply ! Just joined here today.. 73 Bro... Spooky

Greetings from 'High Mountain Radio' 99.9 FM Stereo !
Just read your post here, I am new, just joined today and look forward to spending a LOT of time here ! You've piqued my interest when I read about your EAS capability !! Can you provide me with any additional info on how that was accomplished, any additional equipment required, etc.. I'd LOVE to add that to my transmitter integration ! Many thanks, hope to hear from you ! Happy Holidaze ! Spooky, 'High Mountain Radio', 'CPR For Your Soul' 99.9 FM

Good Morning Mr. Doe !
Thank you very much for that information regarding your EAS capability ! I really appreciate it ! I will scour the internet for info on the gear utilized.. Have a great day ! and... P.S.: even running with 1 watt, your chances of having any problem with Uncle are slim to none if you are only wishing to cover your apartment complex. Unless you cause any interference of any type, let's say, your neighbors shitty cordless phone or landline, baby monitor etc., you are pretty much good to go as long as nobody bitches or complains to Uncle S about interference.. Also, I would highly recommend that you keep the station ownership a closely guarded secret if putting up flyers on community bulletin boards, etc.. Even if you don't cause anyone harm or interference, some people are f***ed up and would file a complaint simply out of jealousy ! People are screwy as I am sure you are well aware ! If one of them even has a hint it is your station and if words are ever exchanged in a heated manner, over even the silliest topics, it can turn ugly quick if the would think to file a complaint ! It's ok to put up flyers for the apartment complex so that others are aware of your station, but try not to let anyone else observe you when posting them,, just to play it safe and remain 'covert' !
73... Have Fun ! Spooky...

Mr. Doe,
I was able to find images of the Sage Model 1822 EAS Receiver, however, I am stumped by this: " a TFT EAS 911 Triple Deck Receiver".. I can only assume with reference to the term "TFT" you mean a flat screen display or some sort ?? Can you please possibly post some pictures of "a TFT EAS 911 Triple Deck Receiver" so that I can have a visual concept of what exactly you are referring to ? I would sincerely appreciate it ! I am most interested in adding this capability to my station as well !
Thank you in advance for any pix or info you may post ! Have a great day !

Good Morning Mr. Doe !
I asked earlier if you would please send me some pictures of "a TFT EAS 911 Triple Deck Receiver". I just wanted to tell you that I found pictures of what you've described so don't go through the trouble of sending the pix.. Thank you just the same anyway ! That is a VERY nice unit !! I will have to try and locate one for my station also ! What is exactly involved in integrating one into the station ? What connections are necessary ? I imagine that the EAS receiver utilizes some sort of receiving antenna for EAS alerts and drills to activate it ? How is it interfaced into the radio station ? Is it nothing more than an audio output from the receiver that can be connected directly to the station mixer ? How does the receiver squelch the station programming during valid alerts received by the EAS receiver ? Any and all details of this would be most appreciated !! I am assisting a local, new, LPFM radio station set their's up as well and it would be most helpful in knowing this information before tackling it ! I would VERY much appreciate any details that you would share !
Thanks a million !
