I just want to tell you all about a Radio Automation and Live assist program I use which has a nice audio procesor I use for my Album Rock (Deep Tracks, Progressive Rock), Classic Rock station The Legacy which I run live shows from Noon-8PM or there about. The software is called NextKast and is very simple to use but has the ability to allow scheduled rotations, playlists, drag and drop into your player. But the fact that it has a wonderful Audio Processor built in that competes with Breakaway Broadcast which I've experimented with when I use to run SAM Broadcaster for Internet Radio but bot tired of the issues with SAM and went with NextKast (actually I helped Wenston develop it as I was a beta tester for over 1 yr. If you are considering Pirate FM or Part 15 FM (or slightly above part 15 but not huge Pirate) radio I'd recommend this for it has a feature that allows you to use a separate sound card for the transmitter. Your not limited to just using Mp3's either as this software has Line Inputs for a mixing console or you can just use the software with a mic. You still sound pretty good as a basic Mp3 Dj system and either way you have the Audio compressor and limiter built in the software and it don't sound like a fisher price toy DJ system like SAM sort of does out of the box.
You should give my station a listen you'll appreciate audiophile sound and what makes this software really amazing is I can run this on a Laptop on Windows 8 with Classic Shell of course and 8GB of RAM and it runs without a hitch (unless your kids start playing video games online when your broadcasting lol). As an Album Rock station on a shoe string budget I really can't believe this thing sounds as good as it does and I've tried others. If you have any issues maybe I can help and Wenston is great at customer support too. I'd like to see more part 15 (actually more people transmitting 1/4 mile to a mile like I want on FM.) so I really wish you the best of luck with it. There is a basic version and Pro which the Pro allows for the transmitter but is less expensive than SAM. At least try the demo and you'll see what I mean. Now all I need is a nice transmitter that I can use that will go 1/4 mile to a mile and I don't have to worry about harmonics. I posted about that in Radio Electronics but maybe I should have posted it under Pirate FM don't know.
