Recently I was thinking of a way to disconnect the individual from the transmitter for security reasons.
I came up with what I think is pretty genius plan. It may work in theory, but I'm not sure it would actually work in real life and I want your opinions.
The idea is to take a very high power infrared laser and use PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) on the beam to produce an AM signal in the broadcast band or maybe shortwave. You then construct an antenna tuned to your frequency in a random location far away from your transmitter site. Then you aim the laser beam directly at the tuned antenna. Would it resonate and produce a signal just as if you had hooked the transmitter up directly? I can just picture the FCC going around with their meters getting all confused when they find there is no transmitter and the signal is just coming out of thin air
