Hey whats up guys. I run a 150 watt transmitter in good ol' North Carolina. I usually keep it tuned into 87.9 (its hard to find an empty spot here). My antenna is probably only about 35 foot off the ground, so that gives me some spotty reception. Some people have reported hearing me 20 - 25 miles away in certain spots. Right now I mainly just play music, because I hate the repetitive local music stations here. I'm running winamp with a remote control plug-in so that I can change the songs and playlist via my phone over the internet when I feel the need. I mainly use it to show off to people when they don't believe its my station . Here's some pics of my setup:
( left side - broadcastwarehouse 150watt amp, middle - 1watt transmitter, right side - power supply )
( 1/4 wave tuneable antenna - pic taken at ground level )
So I'm going to be moving a few miles away in a few weeks. Luckily the new house is 50ft higher in elevation and is 2.5 levels high, whereas my current house is only 1 level. So I'm hoping I'm going to get around 75ft more elevation for my antenna. Once I get moved, I'm going to invest in one or 2 shure mics, and get a weekly show going on, till then tho I'm just pumping out tunes. Here's our myspace page, so feel free to add me or just to check out the progress:
