Gain is good, but I just am not sure how I feel about this antenna. I can't really find anything other than its eBay listing. Problem is, the logic is there, and the numbers aren't unreasonable for a 2x5/8 GP antenna.. But it's still off just enough to make me question it. I throw this out to you fellas and fellows to give it the sniff test. Would love some of that delicious gain, and a 2x5/8 is capable of a 6.5dBi figure... But I've gotta be missing something..............right?

Assuming you're still around. I didn't see this post until just now.
The antenna appears to be legit (or at least close to it), but the real question is whether you will see benefit from it or not. I used to think that the more gain, the better, but it's not always true.
You need these two conditions to benefit from a big gain antenna:
1. A tall tower or mounting location (I'd say at least 40ft)
2. Flat land
If you mount a super high gain antenna low to the ground, it will work worse than a similar low gain antenna. I know this from experience. I think it's because the signal is shooting straight through trees and other objects. My best gain antenna is the Dominator from Norwalk Electronics . It worked much worse than a generic Chinese 1/4 wave ground plane antenna when mounted about 10ft above ground.
Thank you for your response (no worries, I'm still here. I'm usually a lurker but I at least try to drop in every week or so). 40 feet is actually my current height... Mostly battling thick trees for a few hundred feet, but after that I'm higher than the rest of the county by over 100 feet, and short of chopping all of those down, I appear to be at my limit for what I can do. And yeah, there is no such thing as free power. Would love to clear the treeline
