Im planning on extending the range of my ipod FM transmitter by bypassing the attenuator, adding a proper antenna and maybe amplifying the signal. The problem is this junk as so many harmonics, that it will swamp other radio stations accross the entire FM band if I do this. ive been trying to think up a bandpass filter that I could insert to attenuate the harmonics.
What id like is for it to be not too sharp so that I can still tune the transmitter a little, maybe 5 or 6 channels each way from the center frequency of say...96MHz. Can anyone help me out here?
Forget it. Those transmitters aren't even worth filtering imho. Just get yourself a cheapo part 15 type stereo transmitter. Ramsey sells some good ones for around 30-90 bucks. Bandpass filters aren't easy to design. You could design a simple low pass filter but if it's that harmonic rich then it's probably not even worth the trouble.
