I don't have a CB laying around but was thinking of keeping an eye out for a rig or two. I have a friend over here who wants to hook up one so we can chat and maybe open up a new home channel and get others back into it.
Checking my DX398 I haven't heard much of any activity. Some days I hear a bit of skip and others it's just dead. I believe the solar cycle should be coming around, or is in the process of it still.
Just wondering how the bands are in your area. Keep this thread updated if you guys notice the CB band opening up.

I have a rig in my offroad truck, and its pretty much used as a vehicle to vehicle comm setup within a couple hundred yards most of the time, but with a quality antenna. I'm not hearing much of anything unless I get near the interstate. Even then only the most powerful stuff gets through.
I remember sitting in my car and shooting skip because the 8' whip had a higher angle of radiation than my 4-element flatside up 30'. According to my base, it was dead quiet while my car had California and Mexico booming in.
