I am going to buy a new cb for my pickup. I had a 2 meter in it for a while and found if i went outside local area that i hadto program new repeaters in and alot of them are silent even if you throw out your letters. So I decided to put a cb back in my truck. The cb channels are universal in the us and you dont have to program them for new areas. you can keep updated on traffic and wx also if the band is open and with a little extra juice you can dx. In my opinion a cb is a lot better for traveling than a vhf rig. So which would be better the uniden 890 ssb which has no peak and tune and mostly surface mount parts or the new 29 lx which has the original 29 boards in them with standard parts and is easily peaked.( no I do not turn my radios into truck driver specials. no I do not clip my limiters and absolutley no swing kits. I peak them using a pep watt meter or a oscilliscope if I can borrow one). The plus with the 890ssb is that I will have 37 and 38 lsb which are huge dx ch right now. The plus with the 29 is that I can peak it and repair it if needed. I am stuck on one of these two rigs because Want one of these that has the new design and lcd display as well as wx. what do yall think?

Who else finds the white background requiring highlighting of the text to read annoying as hell?
Oh crap you're using the Star Night theme. I didn't see that bug. Should have let me know sooner! Edit: wasn't a bug, it was cptzulu158 using a font style incompatible with dark backgrounds. cptzulu158 please don't use that font style again as it looks strange on other themes besides the default one.
Sorry bout that. I dont guess I know what I done. didnt mean to change fonts or anything. Sometimes it types out in blue ?
No worries mate!
I didn't realize it was specific to my theme
Yeah it's really bizarre. I didn't notice the issue until I switched my theme to the one you're using. Not sure if it is a bug in the forum software or something else. I will have to look into it when I get the time and maybe report the issue to headquarters
