Hey guys, Im new to the world of pirate radio, and I was wondering if there is a way to modify an old crystal type Cb radio to broadcast on the AM band?
Im trying to broadcast in 1600 AM as there is no station here in my area that broadcasts in that frequency.

Sorry but no. You could use parts from the CB to build a medium wave transmitter but that's about all you could do with it. CBs run around 26-27MHz, 1600 on the AM dial is only 1.6MHz, there is no way to get a CB down to that low of a frequency. On the other hand I have had success converting CBs for 24MHz and 28MHz HAM band. Besides even if it were possible CBs only run about 4 watts. That much power on AM would only cover a few miles.
One thing you can try is getting an old 160 meter ham radio transmitter. Those are close enough to the AM broadcast band that they aren't very hard to convert sometimes.
