AM Stereo seemed like an interesting idea, and it took me some time to go over schematics and books to see how GNURadio would do it. I managed to get it working...rather well actually. With some processing behind it, the stereo image is superior to AM; and with a wideband (~11khz) audio response, it sounds amazing. EDIT: 7/13: I have moved the code and readme to a git repo. You can clone and use it with standard git tools in Linux, or download it as a .zip archive.
Listening to it.
The only software AM Stereo decoder available that I know of is SoDiRa. It does not work on Wine sadly, so you'll need Windows for this.
Here is how you open and play it. (This screenshot will help):
Click the "Play" button, and select your WAV file.
Click the IQ button on the right until it says "i/r" and the signal is centered.
Select "AM Radio" in the bottom drop-down, then click "Debug Window" and select "C-QUAM". (You can also change the bandwidth among other things here)
Have fun. Feel free to ask any questions/make suggestions.
