Hi Guys I have my whole system set up and running and have decided to operate between certain hours using a plug in wall timer. It starts at 7am and turns off at 12noon it then restarts at 1 pm to 10pm. I figured I could give the transmitter a rest and also try and not get busted. Does this sound smart, please reply. Well this probably goes without saying but if you start following a schedule you are more likely to get caught compared to choosing random hours to run a show. It is a trade off of either having listeners know when they can tune in every day, or jump on at random times and if you can let your listeners know when to tune in somehow, like through social media or some kind of hidden schedule. Having a strict schedule is not only beneficial to your listeners but also to the radio police since they will know exactly when to tune in and track you down
Not only that there are people who often scan radio bands looking for skip, don't be surprised that your station is found and talked about on a radio related forum board or on youtube where they do a video of their radio doing a band scan and try to identify your station. Often another member will say it's a pirate station for sure.
