I am willing to put in the full effort to make these forums the best I can but only one brain is a lonely drain of ideas. Anyone, please tell me what you would like to see in the forums or how you would like to see this evolve. The first problem I see with pirate/free radio is that there isn't enough information out there about it or forums where people can just go and wing it.
Now I know everyone has their own ideas of what pirate radio should be or could be, but in my mind it should be everything and everything. There need not be a standard. That's what makes this hobby fun is the creativity side of the project. So if we are nuts enough to setup our own radio stations, make our own shows and freak people out by not having the same old crap they are used to listening to then at least we can all come to a spot where ideas are shared. But that place is all over and thin. We need to come together and share our knowledge and get this ball rolling.
I can see a day when the average Joe interested in broadcasting can find a site and learn what is needed to setup a basic station and get on the air. After that point, it's up to them. But everything to get to that point is complex as we all have found out the hard way. It shouldn't be that way though. This stuff should be common knowledge. Even part 15 broadcasting. But how many people even know about that?
I can seriously see this becomming a neat hobby for legal casters who want a small station to cover a few blocks, and for those who may want more. But if the info and the places aren't avail. to public then it's obvious why so many are in the dark.
I dunno, this is a rant hehe. But gees guys this could be the next cool hobby for people to get into if they only knew they could do it.
Imagin turning on your classic Marantz tuner and pulling in oddball radio stations that have programming that is anything but commercial. All the control to the average PD at heart. I can see it happening.
I just don't get why some pirates like to keep it all one big secret and not let others know how to get started step by step rather then discuriging them like I was at first when I started.
I just showed up recently from a link on AlfaLima, so I don't have a lot of suggestions.
What are you wanting to do? Have a learning spot for transmitters and techniques, like proper compression or media management? Or do you want to cater to a more advanced crowd?

Hmm I guess what I posted was a little vague . I want to take the time to make these forums as good as possible and am looking for any ideas/suggestions. I would like to get a shortcut name to the forums that makes more sense while keeping the original url for people who already have it in their favorites.
I have thought about making a home page for the forums with some basic info, but OTOH it seems neat keeping this just forums and nothing else. I don't know. Also getting the word out on these forums would be great. We have got many more registered members then I expected this soon, but we could always use some more .
