While doing a bit of wire tracing on a dead circuit, I stumbled across this curious phenomenon. The Fluke probe began talking to me when it was placed near the baseboard heater. Woah I thought, was the heater transmitting radio? And at what frequency?? Was the heater acting as an extension of probe?!
From the specs we see that the tone generator oscillates between two frequencies 1kHz and 1.5kHz but it does not specify what frequencies the probe can receive. Given this information though we can assume the probe at minimal receives a range of ULF. Could this have been a secure communication?? Has it traveled up from the ground rods into the plumbing?!
Unfortunately, I left the probe at work. Maybe tomorrow I'll bring it home to disassemble. More experiments must be done.
