Welcome!! Are we talking AM or FM??? There are several units (AM and FM) in that power range that are available in either kit or fully-assembled models (the latter usually more expensive....)... Ramsey makes a good product at a reasonable price...I'd scope out eBay for something like an LPB AM exciter/transmitter or one of the "vintage" FM exciters...a bit more cash outlay up front, but if the unit is in working condition, you'll likely have it for a LONG time... I was able to score a CCA FM-20G exciter and an Optimod 8000A on "the Bay"....Happy camper here!! If you can, try to steer clear of the "Hong Kong Specials" offered on eBay....they're "cheap"....for a reason!!! Lousy audio and the FM "transmitters" are notorious for spurious emissions...plus, they're (normally) set up for 50uS pre-emphasis and are next to impossible to change (to 75uS for North America, for example....)... Good luck in your search!! A good audio board is worth its weight in gold, so you might want to add this to your budget....a 12 channel Yamaha goes for ~$US300 and has a myriad of "bells and whistles"!! oldie919
hi sorry about the delayed answer and thanks a lot for the welcome i looked on ebay about the Ramsey, but i looking for something with RDS so i keep serach and i found company called Tugicom did u heared abbout them ?
usemid..... This looks like it would do you well.....Just make SURE you put it in a WELL-SHIELDED case!!! The balanced (XLR) connections are a definite plus over RCA (unbalanced) inputs.....and being able to jumper-select pre-emphasis is a near God-send!!! As for RDS....there are several "flavors" available...depending on what you wish to do with it and how an RDS endec will be interfaced with the exciter... If you're just looking to add an ID line (ie., "WXXX, 107.9") or other static logo, setup tends to be less involved....if, however, you want to run song title/artist scrolls... things get more interesting.....A QUALITY PC IS A MUST FOR RDS/AUDIO PROCESSING!! Good USED PCs can be had without selling a kidney....but a $99 eMachine from Wally World will "choke" when/where you need it the most (don't ask me how I know....!!)!!! The Tugicom is a product of Israel....and appears to be well-made (assuming the specs are accurate....) and probably worth the asking price....I'd try to contact the seller and see if they can recommend a good case for the board....but if not, you can build one for very little cost (Google: Aluminum/copper cases)... Hope I've steered you in the right direction!! Good luck with your project!!
