Greetings To All From High Mountain Radio !
In the interest in serving those who serve your respective audiences, here are some good rules to follow to hopefully ensure your long life on the broadcast bands:
1. Keep it clean ! No crude or offensive language or controversial subject matter, stay away from politics, religion, and anything else that may raise the ire of your listeners.
2. Ensure your station is up to the highest of possible technical standards, correct any interference issues swiftly ! Always use a good Low Pass Filter on your transmitter !
3. Stay out of harm's way ! Never give a traceable phone number or address ! Always use a cheap 'burner phone' number and a maildrop address, the more obscure, the better !
Anything else I may think of, I will append to these rules of conduct at a later time. If you maintain the highest of standards and offer, good, quality programming material, unlikely or never heard on any other commercial and non-commercial stations, to your audience, especially in rural areas where there may be very little choices available, and most likely your listeners will be thrilled that you are there, providing them with excellent quality programming even if they eventually realize you are not quite legit. Most people won't have a clue if you are legit or not if you follow the cardinal rules of conduct ! I have learned this from my own experience over 38 years at 'the game'. They will just enjoy grooving to your tunes that they likely will never hear on any other 'legit' station otherwise !
Enjoy, and Rock On !
Spooky...
