my online station is ASCAP paid and licensed
Look I know this post might be looked down upon by the admin. But my conscious told me to post it here anyway, technically the law with online radio is hit and miss, therefore at the same time you both can and cannot get into trouble for not having a blanket license. Even if you don't run any commercials when broadcasting anywhere both online, or YouTube, or over the air, or whatever your current setup may be.here is an article about radionomy getting suedradio.co/blog/radionomy-getting-suedsomeone mentioned to me that my host could be even in more danger of getting sued just for allowing me to broadcast with their help, for me not having any license. Someone also mentioned to me, in which I think is a complete bull shit law. That I need to pay even more money for yet another license if I have any listeners in Europe or outside of the United States that just happened to be tuned in. Someone mentioned to me that I need a separate payed license for every single country I broadcast to or am picking up listeners from. But I also am a payed sponsor for StreamFinder that helps amazon sell music to people so I am hoping that will prevent me from getting into trouble IF TROUBLE ARRIZED because my host broadcasts worldwide and without a way to ban anyone from my server. Plus people that use VPN are impossible to tell where they are from anyway.CastHost. my host, tracks down the copyright sessions in the background, somehow, and somehow it automatically goes onto the ASCAP computer somehow, I DON'T know exactly how it works my host does not tell anyone to get a license but they did tell me that they do not cover the cost of the license that if I wanted one and BUT DID NOT NEED ONE.ALL THE ASCAP LICENCE IS, IS A SHIELD MY HOST TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE, THEY ALSO TOLD ME IT WILL COVER ME IF IN CASE SOMEONE TRIES TO SUE ME, OVER COPYRIGHT INFRIDGEMENT FOR USING THEIR COPYRIGHTED MATERAL IN PUBLIC.I heard Napster was sued millions of dollars by the band Metallica for distributing their material without having a license All FM radio stations in my local area play the same 100 songs over and over and over and over again because I think they don't have a license and don't want to get sued because they simply don't want to pay. I am guessing and all it cost is $310.00 one time a year currently for any radio station with a $0 to $24,600.00 revenue369,000 sessionsAN ASCAP MUSIC SESSION IS NOT A LISTENER SESSION IT IS DIFFERENT FROM A LISTENER SESSION IN MY EXPERENCEhere is the details for those (interested) again this law is hit an miss and my host told me I don't need one (edit) BUT I DO ANYWAYwww.ascap.com/music-users/types/website-mobile-app-landing-page?gclid=Cj0KCQjw06-oBhC6ARIsAGuzdw2_rffQxAFdL8NeSHRYu2rPiJc9L4V371BeJe_axRRLA5rqHCE_U5saAjWLEALw_wcB

Response to my own post. like I said in another post, ASCAP does not usually work for Europe or most foreign countries outside of the United States, but I cannot ban people, my host does not give me that option, and I cannot even tell if anybody is listening at all since all I've been getting is a data count these days.
But according to that I am getting plenty of traffic mostly from what I believe are direct connections that don't register but are connected to non the less, from Mars for all I know, but they do exist, and I do have one continuous relay channel somewhere on Planet Earth or Mars.
not sure where, but info shows up on my main host board but not on my main channel board. I think I know why but I will not change my setup regardless. I know for a fact that I have a lot of tuned in, even though I can't see a single one of them on my boards physically. but through a process of data usage calculation partially yes.
at least I get a proverbial estimate of listeners through device headcount only. it took me months to find out how many I had. but like I said you do not need to have a license to broadcast over the internet, but you could find yourself like Napster and get sued many times over by any band or artist that just wants to be a thorn in your side, or feels disgruntled in anyway.
but that is where the ASCAP license comes into play, because as long as you follow the law, they don't have excuses to arrest you or fine you or confiscate your equipment. You can still sail the airwaves but just know sailing without a license is like sailings without knowing how to not to sail into shark infested waters.
some of those artists and bands are desperate and they will take actions this is the truth told
