Started listening around 0700UTC. Coming in really clear on AM. Almost a solid signal at times with some fades into noise but still clear enough to make out any audio. Wished their listeners a happy new year. Playing mostly oldies rock music. Just ran an aircheck ID saying something about how they are "free" and pirate radio with both a male voice and a female voice. Very professional sounding. Could easily pass as a commercial station with a 60s sound. Happens to be the second pirate I have picked up on 1710KHz this week! Gives me a lot of hope for future AM MW pirates to pop up. 0726UTC playing Auld Lang Syne new years song. 0730UTC starting to loose the signal to splatter from adjacent stations but still pulling in enough to make out what songs are playing.
All this MW activity lately really makes me want to setup a horizontal dipole for 1710KHz so that I can run my own shows at night but I just don't have the space, and my vertical T is the wrong polarization for transmitting strong skywave. Ugh oh well, one of these days I will join in on the fun.

0810UTC: Still on the air but splatter from a near by station on 1700KHz is making it really hard to hear. Lots of fading now, coming in solid one minute, hardly picking up anything the next. Going to call it a night as it's real late. Wish I recorded it but I felt too lazy to get off my ass to grab a patch cord for my soundcard.
