hi there, i am new to radio and to forums.... i have just received a new transmitter and dipole antenna. i need an extension for the antenna and the manufacturer of the transmitter suggests RG58 or LMR400. As I need the extension very soon, I am considering buying any coax I find with the endings I need. I suspect that there is something about impedance that is important, but.... At the moment, I am worried about doing something that would damage the transmitter itself.... Any help will be appreciated. COLAPTES

Any coaxial cable that is 50ohm (sometimes labeled 52ohm) will be fine assuming you are not running higher power than the cable can handle. LMR400 has less power loss so if you can afford it then go with that, otherwise RG58 is alright for short runs.
