I recommend having a soundcard or sound board and all your recordings in ACC/FLAC format first. Then set your soundcard as your default communication device and as your speaker device also. Install Mixxx app on computer. Then set your app setting to operate with your current sound card or chip. Turn off waveform cache before you start. And turn off high wavelength graphics setting before you start.
Then test your audio latency for lag. The audio latency is a different REQUIREMENT for everyone. But IT MUST BE PERFECT. otherwise, your sound will be shitty and skip all over the place. Sometimes you don't need it sometimes you do. RAM and CPU processor speed determine how low or high audio latency must be setup.
Set your equalizer to high mid right high left and lower to higher middle section.
Your far-left controls BASS your mid-section controls most voice and your far-right controls most percussions.
Raise the 2nd and the 3rd from right and the far-left bar high.
and then do 1 2 & 3 with the 3rd from left the highest bar.
DO NOT RAISE THE FARTEST-RIGHT BAR HIGH. otherwise, the percussions will hurt you and your listeners eardrums.
Set up your preferences turn on the GRAPHIC EQUILIZER. setup AUTOPAN on both sides of the screen you'll see. Then turn both the wheels slightly to the half left wheel center.
setup auto Dj. then turn it full intro and outro and set it 7 second crossfade with all other default settings. Add you Dj libraries to the recordings folder inside the documents folder on your computers. Click auto Dj add the shift A to select all music, right click. Add to AUTO DJ. click shuffle one time and wait. Setup you stream.

See this topic about blanket licenses if you do not want to pirate. You don't need one, but it will keep you safe. Even noncommercial stations need one to be completely. safe Check out
It's worth noting for anybody who care about (who's listening?) in my opinion it should not really matter of Who is listening in my experience, it's more of a pain in ass of what is listening. I am saying your host could charge you and tell you 500 people are listening but in reality, 1 and sometimes nobody is listening. The only way to be sure is to go to your sources page and login then calculate the data usage getting sent and/or read. That decreases when people or things disconnect, and adds up when another device connects, but that could still be a bot. So, watch your server for occasional shutdowns, because somebody or a group of people randomly shutdown online radio at the source.
Ever since I increased my sound quality, I've noticed less relay and more direct VPN connections that also don't pick up as connected officially to mound points, but the listener minute count will still count but I'm not sure how accurate it is.
Anyway, I allow for relays, but you may have a better time starting your own gig rather than using someone else's stream.
Here is why.
The sound quality of relayed online radio depends on various factors such as the original audio quality, the bitrate of the stream, and the compression algorithm used. In general, the quality of the relayed audio is lower than that of the original audio 1. This is because the audio signal undergoes multiple stages of encoding and decoding, which can introduce noise and distortion to the audio signal 1

I wanted to offer more information. Is use Default 44.1kHz which is the default recommendation for most audio devices it is how most CD's are produced. I am not a frequently number professional. I assume from my understanding the higher the Khz number the higher the percussions intensity. It's better to have a balance of Bass Voice levels and percussion sounds. Your sound devices may vary in Bass and percussion sound. Big bass equipment obviously requires, less bass and more percussion adjustments. But often cheaper inexpensive equipment requires more bass adjustments.
Remember when broadcasting or streaming that, a variety of speakers will be picking up that sound once it's decoded somehow. AAC is the best encoder format, on lower bandwidths of streaming. 64kbps is actually a great qualify with it.
I would not be lazy and try to drown out static with bass if I were you. You need a sound filter of some sort always recommended.
don't overload your hardware, keep your volumes medium. Not too loud not too soft. If the display is going red too much of something is happening either VOLUME Bass or Percussions. Keep everything level as possible.
